Thousands of US flights were canceled Christmas weekend because of omicron cases among staff, among other issues.

As of 6 a.m. ET, Delta Air Lines has canceled 52 flights on Christmas Day, while United Airlines has canceled 47.

Effective immediately, travelers must test negative for the virus within 72 hours of entering the Bahamas, regardless of vaccination status.

Puerto Rico is set to tighten its testing requirements for U.S. travelers amid the holiday travel season.

Health experts tend to agree that getting together with family and friends for the holidays is OK, and even good for mental wellbeing, if done right.

The U.S. enacted the travel restrictions in late November in an attempt to slow the spread of omicron within the U.S.

The winter months can be slower in Las Vegas, but there are still plenty of attractions to draw in visitors around the holidays.

“Avoid travel to these destinations,” the CDC warns. “If you must travel to these destinations, make sure you are fully vaccinated before travel.”

The State Department announced Monday that it would increase fees for passport books by $20 for all customers.

More than 109 million people are expected to hit the road between Dec. 23 and Jan. 2, driving up congestion across the nation.
