Donald Trump’s lawyers say Democratic prosecutors failed to connect the former president to the violence that unfolded at the Capitol on Jan. 6.

The defeat was the third party-line vote to reject proposals from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.

The Senate impeachment trial of President Trump will begin Tuesday, Jan. 21, according to Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
