With the latest round of flight cuts, Southwest will have cut nearly 40 percent of its daily flights, including all international flights.

When airlines cancel a flight, passengers are eligible for a refund. But if the flight isn’t canceled, you may only get a travel credit.

The coronavirus travel fallout is deepening so rapidly airlines are increasing their flight cuts and making plans to park planes.

The airline said it will only offer travelers unopened cans of water. Passengers may bring their own drinks. Snacks will still be served.

Southwest Airlines said it has had several days of more cancellations than bookings and that planes are flying half empty in recent days.

Southwest Airline’s cheapest fares are generally not available at the last minute, but the airline is capping last-minute fares at $199 one way.

The airline’s CEO, Oscar Munoz, and president, Scott Kirby, said late Sunday that the airline carried 1 million fewer passengers in March versus a year ago.
