The White House says a gas tax holiday will provide “breathing room” for drivers as inflation has soared to a 40-year high, pushed by fuel prices.

Critics say a pause in the federal gas tax could ultimately make inflation worse, sap transportation funds and reduce gas prices by a fraction.

The White House says any impact on inflation from canceling student debt would be small. But the risks loom large as Joe Biden weighs a decision.

‘What happened here is simple, straightforward terrorism,’ Biden said in Buffalo after meeting and grieving with family members of shooting victims.

More than 1,400 people, including President Joe Biden and former presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, are expected to attend Albright’s funeral.

Among the 78 people who Biden granted clemency is the nation’s first Black Secret Service agent for a presidential detail.

The U.S. provided Ukraine 1,400 Stinger anti-aircraft systems, 5,550 Javelin missiles, 7,000 small arms, 50 million rounds of ammo and more.

Albright, who emigrated to the U.S. from Czechoslovakia at age 2, became the highest-ranking woman in government in the Clinton administration.
